Toms River Police: Have You Seen This Wawa, Supermarket Robbery Suspect?

Toms River police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a robbery suspect in a crime who was captured on surveillance footage.

According to police:

On Jan. 21, 2014, a 45-year-old female realized that her credit card was either lost or stolen in Toms River. This occurred at either the Walmart on Route 37 or CVS at Bananier Drive between 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

By 9 p.m. there were 11 fraudulent charges on the card at multiple Wawas Stop & Shop, Shoprite and the Raceway Gas Station in the Toms River and Brick area.  The suspect also made eight purchases in the amount of $100 each for Home Depot gift cards, police said.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30’s with a dark goatee.  He was wearing a tan jacket, jeans, and had on a distinctive grey knit hat depicting flames.  At the time of the criminal activity he was the passenger in a dark colored Jeep Cherokee or similar vehicle.
