UPDATE: Toms River Woman Charged With Having 4 Heroin Packets, 3 Needles

Police are investigating why a 26-year-old Toms River woman allegedly had four packets of heroin and three hypodermic needles without a prescription in Upper Freehold Township, according to Monmouth Count Courthouse records.

Julia E. Hunter of Cardinal Drive was arrested Thursday after she was allegedly a fugitive fro justice out of Bucks County, Pa.

Authorities also charge that Hunter hindered her own apprehension by providing a law enforcement officer with false information to avoid arrest.

Hunter is scheduled to appear in court on March 27 and has been jailed on $15,000 bail.
