A Toms River woman was issued a careless driving summons by police following a two car accident on Whitesville Road Friday morning.
Olive Tourtillott, 77, was driving her Chrysler westbound on Whitesville Road when she attempted to make a left turn in front of Ashley Russano, 22, of Island Heights, who was traveling eastbound in a Honda, according to police spokesman Ralph Stocco.
The two vehicles collided at about 7:56 a.m., causing minor injuries to both drivers, Stocco said. Both were transported to Community Medical Center for evaluation and treatment.
Tourtillott was issued a careless driving summons by police on scene.
Traffic Safety Officer Terry Warren investigated the crash.
