Traffic Alert: Delay at Route 37 and Oak Ridge for Car Accident

Incident resulting in no lane closures, says police chief

A multiple-vehicle accident occurred at Route 37 and Oak Ridge Parkway around 9:30 a.m. Monday, but no lane closures are resulting, said Toms River Police Chief Mastronardy.

Traffic is building, however, as emergency responders tend to the scene for a possible entrapment. Mastronardy said the incident was minor.

"We're currently on the scene," he said at 9:44 a.m.

The crash occurred in the westbound lanes of Route 37. Currently the right shoulder is closed.

The roadway, where a traffic light sits, is also the intersection with Lakehurst Road near West Dover in Toms River.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area for the next hour.
