Traffic Alert for Toms River

The following roadwork and traffic reports for Toms River this afternoon, May 24:

• Repaving crews were working on Bell Street at the intersection with Vaughn Avenue this morning and afternoon to complete work at the corner. The entrance to Bell was closed.

• The shoulder of the jughandle off Hooper Avenue northbound to Silver Bay Road had portions of its lane blocked by traffic cones as officials tended to roadwork on the right hand side.

• A disabled vehicle was blocking traffic in the center lane of Hooper Avenue southbound near Division Street, before the Route 37 intersection. Traffic slowed at around 1:30 p.m. as traffic moved to the left or right lanes for the disabled vehicle.
