Traffic Alert: Right Lane Closed for Route 37 Sink Hole

Sink hole near Mule Road on Route 37 eastbound

A sinkhole closed portions of Route 37 near Mule Road beginning this morning and drivers are urged to avoid the area as construction crews tend to sewer line repair.

The sinkhole emerged around 6 a.m., effectively closing the eastbound right lane and shoulder from Mule Road to Lakehurst Road on the state road.

Business activity slowed, as did vehicular traffic, to the stretch of Route 37 affected, which includes an intersection serving as a main artery for Holiday City residents.
