Early morning Wednesday, two burglaries saw residents' cash and jewels taken by unknown suspects.
In one incident, a 5' 9" man wearing black clothing managed to enter a second story bathroom window of a Cathedral Court home, said Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy.
The resident, a 54 year-old woman, awoke at 2 a.m. and turned on a light, only to be confronted by the man in her bedroom, Mastronardy said.

The victim was not injured during the burglary and robbery, said the police chief.
The suspect is described as a 5’ 9" man, was wearing black clothing, black ski mask and gloves.

Mastronardy said the man took $10,000 in jewelry before fleeing the rear of the residence. Cathedral Court is a culdesac off Church Road.
Dan Herr and Detectives Mark Bajada and Randy Petrick are investigating along with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.
A second incident occurred on Clifton Avenue.
Between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. unknown suspect entered through the front door of a Clifton Avenue home, Mastronardy said.
The suspect removed more than $500 in jewelry and $100 in cash. No further details were released.
Officer Charlie Grainger is investigating.
