Toms River Man Charged With Careless Driving After Accident in Galloway

Ann Rapisardi and David Rapisardi, of Little Egg Harbor, were hospitalized with head and chest injuries. Paul Zavocki, of Toms River, was issued a summons for careless driving.

Two Little Egg Harbor residents were hospitalized with head and chest injuries following an accident on South New York Road (Rte. 9) in Galloway Sunday night.

A Toms River man was issued a summons for careless driving in connection with the accident.

Ann Rapisardi and David Rapisardi, of Little Egg Harbor, were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Galloway following a two-car crash around 8:56 p.m. Sunday night. Ann Rapisardi was driving a 2013 Toyota Camry north on Route 9 when collided with a 2004 Buick Ranier, being driven by Paul Zavocki, of Toms River.

Paul Zavocki was making a left out of a gas station at the time of the accident.

The impact caused the Toyota to overturn.  Ann and David Rapisardi had to be extricated from their vehicle by the fire department.

Paul Zavocki and his passenger, Alice Zavocki, complained of chest pain and were treated at the scene.

Paul Zavocki was issued a summons for careless driving.

The accident remains under investigation by Ptl. Paul Smith. Anyone who may have additional information is asked to contact the Galloway Township Police Department at 609-652-3705.
