Two People Arrested After Gunshots Heard At Jamestown Village

Suspect allegedly threatened to kill

Two people were arrested Saturday after police responded to reports of shots being fired at Jamestown Village apartments.

Police arrested Simon Santillan Delgado, 33, of Toms River after responding to building 6, where he lives, and after shots were heard at 2 a.m. Saturday morning.

Delgado, of Jamestown Village building 6, apartment 8, was charged with possession of a weapon, terroristic threats, aggravated assault and resisting arrest. He is being held in Ocean County Jail on $200,000 bail, with no 10 percent option, police said.

Police also arrested Juan Cordoba Vallejo, 30, of the same address, for obstructing during their investigation. He was released on a summons.

Upon arrival, Officer Kyle Martucci located a suspect running behind building 15. Officers detained the suspect, and while questioning him about the gun shots, he allegedly told officers he would kill if he had a gun, police said.

The suspect then he lunged at Officer Patrick Jacques. Delgado was quickly arrested and jailed. Officers searching the area then found a .38 revolver between buildings 15 and 6, with six spent shell casings, police said.
