Two Residential Burglaries Reported Monday

Sports autographs, TVs, jewelry were stolen

Toms River Police are investigating two residential burglaries, where suspects forced their way into homes during daytime Monday.

One incident, on Martin Road near Garfield Avenue in East Dover, occurred between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m., Chief Michael Mastronardy said. The suspect, or suspects, broke in after prying open a rear garage window.

A 24-inch Magnavox television, HP laptop computer, sports memorabilia and autographed photos of Stan Musial and Hank Aaron were stolen from the Martin Road home, Mastronardy said. The total value of the stolen goods and a description of the suspects is unknown.

Toms River Police Officer Jenifer Grob and Ocean County Sheriff's Officer Mike Senger are investigating.

Another residential burglary occurred between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on North Gateway, which is off of Routes 37 and 166.  The suspect, or suspects, broke out a rear door's glass to get into the home, and then removed more than $1,000 in jewelry from the bedroom before fleeing.
