Two Weekend Burglaries Reported in Downtown Toms River

Police investigating office break-ins

Two downtown offices about a half-mile apart were burglarized sometime this weekend, Toms River Police said.

In one case, a suspect entered through the first story window of an office on Grand Avenue, off of Hooper Avenue.

Attorney Richard Sevrin reported on Monday that his law firm’s office was broken into, via a window, and a black Toshiba laptop and a black nylon case worth $2,000 was stolen, said Police Chief Michael Mastronardy.

In a second incident, a rear window was smashed at 70 E. Water St. office suites, and suspects entered the office of Ocean Title Service, stealing about $500 in change and two bottles of whiskey off a shelf in a rear office, Mastronardy said.

Both incidents were reported to police on Monday.
