Vehicle Fire Temporarily Closes Right Lane of Hooper Avenue South
Van fire shuts down one lane of Hooper Avenue for half an hour
A report of a vehicle ablaze was enough to shut down an entire lane of Hooper Avenue, a major roadway in town, shortly after 3 p.m. Friday.
“There was a vehicle fire in the driveway of KS Fitness on Hooper Avenue,” said Chief John Gonzalez of Toms River Fire Company #1. “The right lane of Hooper Avenue South was closed between Walnut and James Streets for approximately one half-hour.”
Gonzalez said the vehicle found to be in flames was a white passenger van, though he was not able to determine the make of the van.
