Toms River Police Officer Chris Leighton is investigating a theft of a back pack from a bench at the Toms River Bus Station at 1130 a.m. on Thursday, Chief Michael Mastronardy said.
A 55-year-old Forked River man reported his back pack was stolen from the bench after he left it unattended for a few minutes, Mastronardy said.
Security video shows a white male wearing jeans and a dark hoodie get out of what appears to be a dark Ford Taurus with no front plate, pull up to the bench, get out and remove the backpack then drive off, according to Mastronardy.
