Water Main Break Closes Main Street in Toms River

From the Toms River Police Department:

Main Street in the downtown section of Toms River will be closed due to an underground water main break.  Southbound Main Street is detoured onto Highland Parkway and northbound Main Street will be diverted onto Legion Street.

In addition, there will be no water service on both sides of Main Street between Washington Street and Walton Street.  Water will also be shut off in various sections of the area, specifically near the section of Lien Street and Park Street.

United Water Company is on the scene and making repairs.  This is expected to last until 9 pm.  Extra police units will be in the area to assist motorists
