OCC to Reopen at 5 p.m. After Water Main Break

Evening classes back on for Toms River campus students

Ocean County College's Toms River campus will reopen at 5 p.m. after being closed from this morning due to a major water main break, college officials said.

The campus closed at 10:30 a.m. today to deal with a main break that coincided with the last day of the spring semester.

The main campus sits on College Drive off of H. Buckwald Bridge and Hooper Avenue. While those roadways are not effected, the campus buildings are. Closures have been for the entire campus — sports facilities, the library, academic and administrative buildings, according to an announcement by the college. The Southern campus in Manahawkin is unaffected.

College officials had planned to close the campus the rest of the day, canceling day and evening classes. However, evening classes will be held, according to the college's website.
