Whiting Woman Injured in Hooper Avenue Crash

The injured woman was issued a ticket in the accident

A Manchester woman was injured Friday night in an accident at Hooper Avenue and Indian Hill Road in Toms River, police said.

Heidemari Kilichowski, 59, of the Whiting section of Manchester, was injured when the 2003 Jeep she was driving was struck by a 2003 Jeep driven by Heather Malcolm, 20, of Brick,  Chief Michael Mastronardy said.

According to the police report, Kilichowski was attempting to turn left onto southbound Hooper Avenue from Indian Hill Road when she was struck by Malcolm, who was northbound on Hooper. Traffic Safety Officer Stephen Schwartz issued Kilichowski a summons for a traffic signal violation in the incident, Mastronardy said.

Malcolm and her passenger were not injured in the crash. Kilichowski was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, by Toms River Police EMS, Mastronardy said.
