Buckwald To Close Through Oct. 15

College embarking on electrical project, lane closures in place starting Sept. 24

Travelers to Ocean County College and H. George Buckwald Drive will find detours in place starting Sept. 24, as lane and road closures will begin for a new electrical service to the campus, officials said.

Starting Monday, Sept. 24 and ending Friday, Oct. 5 both lanes of Buckwald Drive will be closed to vehicular traffic from 6:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. for new electric service to the campus. All vehicular traffic must enter and exit the college using College Drive for the duration of the work.

Starting Monday, Oct. 8 and ending Friday, Oct. 12 the northbound lane of Buckwald Drive (from the College toward Church Road) will be closed to vehicular traffic from 6:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. so the new college electrical service can continue to be installed. Only southbound traffic will proceed in the open southbound lane of Buckwald Drive during the above work.

Both lanes of Buckwald Drive are expected to be open to traffic on Monday, Oct. 15

I wish they would do something about the Lot 2 exit from Buckwald Drive-I can't tell you the number of times I've seen cars just pull out without even looking!

When will the promised road from campus to North Bay be built? That might alleviate some of the horrendous Church Rd. traffic jams at Hooper Ave. and Brick Blvd.
