Christie: Seaside Coaster in Ocean an Iconic Image, But 'I Will Not Forget' Other Devastation
Governor says he's fighting for entire state
Continuing the Season of Service initiative launched in Toms River last week, Gov. Chris Christie and First Lady Mary Pat Christie was in Port Monmouth, another area devastated by Hurricane Sandy.
In his comments, Christie said that while the photos of Seaside Heights' roller coaster in the Atlantic Ocean were indeed "iconic images" it didn't make reaching out to the Bayshore, Long Beach Island and other devastated parts of New Jersey any less important.
