County Freeholders Set 2012 Appointments

Ocean board holds annual reorganization meeting

The 2012 Ocean County Board of Freeholders decided on members' assignments for the year Wednesday while also appointing a variety of professional staffers at its annual reorganization .

at a meeting where members traditionally set their goals for the coming year.

But the session is not merely ceremonial. The board members renew or revise their personal assignments to county departments and boards while naming a variety of professionals to serve as counsel, architect, etc.

Freeholders' assignments for 2012 are as follows:

Director Gerry Little

Director of the Department of Human Services; member, Ocean County Planning Board; Ocean County College Board of School Estimate; Ocean County Vocational-Technical Schools Board of School Estimate; member, Ocean County Board of Social Services; and ex-officio member, Ocean County Mental Health Board.

Deputy Director John Bartlett

Director of the Departments of Finance and Parks and Recreation; alternate member, Ocean County Planning Board; Ocean County College Board of School Estimate; and representative, Southern New Jersey Freeholders Association.

Freeholder Joseph Vicari

Director of the Departments of Senior Services and Public Works, County Operations and Energy; Ocean County Vocational-Technical Schools Board of School Estimate; and ex-officio member, Ocean County PIC, Inc.

Freeholder John Kelly

Director, Departments of Law and Public Safety and Engineering; member, Ocean County Planning Board; representative, New Jersey Association of Counties; and Ocean County Vocational-Technical Schools Board of School Estimate.

Freeholder James Lacey

Director of the Department of Transportation; alternate representative, New Jersey Association of Counties; Ocean County College Board of School Estimate; alternate representative, Southern New Jersey Freeholders Association; member, Ocean County Board of Social Services; ex-officio member, Ocean County Advisory Commission on the Status of Women; North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority; and member, Transportation Advisory Board.

Additionally, the freeholders made the following professional appointments:

  • County counsel: John C. Sahradnik
  • Assistant county counsel: Laura M. Benson, Michael H. Mathis
  • County architect: Massimo F. Yezzi Jr.
  • County auditor: William E. Antonides
  • Labor relations consultant: James W. Holzapfel
  • Public agency compliance officer: Ralph B. Patterson
