Four-Way Race in Republican Primary for U.S. Senate

June 5 primary will decide which republican will run against Sen. Menendez

The local races in Toms River and Ocean County have uncontested primaries. However, the June primary will have an impact for Republicans statewide.

There's a four-way race to represent the GOP in November against U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez, a Democrat.

Among the candidates is solar energy company owner Joe Rullo, headquartered in Beachwood. Bader G. Qarmout of Newton and David-Douglas Brown of East Brunswick are also on the Republican ballot along with District 13 State Sen. Joe Kyrillos.

NJSpotlight.com's sample ballots allow users to explore by ZIP Code the primary races, showcasing candidate's responses and background.

Well now I wonder who the Republicants are telling the sheep to vote for with that picture. Even though it is with the guy the establishment really didn't want but now is totally behind. What a joke these 2 gangs are.

Joey Rullo has my vote. Anyone as looney as he is deserves to be in the U.S. Senate.

If the election were held today, Bob Menendez would crush Joe Kyrillos by a margin of 42%-33%, according to an FDU PublicMind poll. However, "someone else" would defeat Menendez by a margin of 37% to 30%, which shows you that the right candidate can definitely pull off a win. I believe that Joe Rullo is that candidate. He is the Ocean County native son in the race, and he has the most in-depth platform of everyone running. He would certainly be preferable to either of the so-called frontrunners, both career politicians who have accomplished nothing worthwhile even though we've been paying their salaries for decades.

Any "republication" will lose (Patch's word in the sub-headline).

A vote for Joey Rullo will send a clear message to Washington. I encourage everyone to vote for "Slow Joe."

Kyrillos abandoned his District 13 constituents by not even making a comment to support Union Beach in its fight to prevent a 38-story noisy industrial wind turbine just a little over 1,000 feet from a lot of homes. Hazlet, Matawan, Holmdel, Keyport and Monmouth County also passed resolutions opposing the turbine. But still Kyrillos refused to weigh in, even after he granted a meeting to a few locals looking for his help. Recently, he was the only Republican sponsor on a bill that would have allowed wind turbines up to 500' tall on preserved farm land in two southern NJ counties. Kyrillos is not what he claims. He's a wheeling-and-dealing back door politician with no loyalty to the people he's supposed to represent. I'm a Republican, and will gladly vote for Menendez if Kyrillos gets the nomination.

Amen to that! Where were you Joe when we needed you? When Sea Girt was also threatened with a 380-foot plus wind turbine with blades each the size of a cell tower, all three of their state reps went to bat for them. Sean Kean, then Senator, even sponsored a bill that would require a 2,000-foot setback from homes for the Windzilla-sized industrial wind-to-energy installations. Not far enough, but at least heading in the right direction on setbacks. Sea Girt won their fight, largely due to their legislators. WHERE WERE YOU AND WHERE ARE YOU JOE? Union Beach and its neighbors need you, but you fail to say or do anything to help them.

Who really cares if he's a native son of Ocean County....He's a few cards short of a whole deck, he's the last person I'd vote for.
