Free Parenting Classes Offered in Toms River

A parenting course that will "improve your relationships and communication skills with the kids in your life" is being offered in Toms River, officials said.

STEP, "Systematic Training for Effective Parenting," is being organized by the Toms River Municipal Alliance, the Ocean County Health Department and the Toms River Elks. The classes will be start May 5 and be held at Ocean County College.

Classes for parents of elementary school children, 5-10 years old, begin May 5 and will last eight sessions on Mondays. Parents of children 11-14 years old will take place on Thursdays and begin May 8.

The courses will be led by certified STEP facilitator, Christine Malinowski, MSW, LSW.
