Mantoloking Bridge Back Open; Fewer Delays In Toms River?

The bridge closing caused widespread traffic delays as traffic was diverted to Point Pleasant or Toms River

The Mantoloking Bridge is back open after being closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic on Saturday afternoon.

The bridge was in the closed position, but the road gates were also stuck in the closed position.

The Ocean County Road Department completed repairs late on Saturday afternoon.

All bridge lanes were closed for more than an hour starting about 3 p.m., according to 511nj.org.

Only emergency vehicles were allowed to pass, and the bridge closing caused widespread traffic delays as traffic was diverted to Point Pleasant or Toms River.
