The Ocean County freeholders and the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority will host a public information session Thursday on a development study taking place that is looking into whether an exit ramp should be added in the southbound lanes of the Garden State Parkway and exit 83.

The meeting is intended to solicit comments from residents and discuss potential issues with the plan. County and state staff members will be available to answer questions.

The session will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Ocean County Administration Building, 129 Hooper Avenue, in room 119, which is normally the freeholders' meeting room.

I agree with this man's comment: "The freeloaders just woke up about that long-requested southbound exit ramp. Next thing you know, they'll wake up about the need for a north-south exit at Church Road and North Bay Ave. in Toms River -- to alleviate traffic jams between Rt. 70, Brick Blvd., Hooper Ave. and Fischer Blvd." Local commuters and Bennies both would appreciate that.

sorry LB but this is just a smoke and mirrors photo-op - there is no one at the NJ Turnpike that has either the authority or expertise in doing anything without being told directly by the Governor's Office - good reason for that too - you noticed Simple Simon Simpson jump ship just before the latest corruption investigation dealing with the Pulaski Skyway project was publicly announced

it would still be nice to have the exit there. it is long overdue as McCorry said. We've been hearing about it for years too.
