Most Manchester Polling Places Ready for Tuesday Election

Manchester municipal clerk said that only one site will be affected

All polling sites around Manchester except for one will be functional on election day next week.

After touring the township's voting districts, Municipal Clerk Sabina Skibo said that one of Manchester's 40 poll locations will be relocated come election day on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Since Cedar Glen Homes has no power and its Beech Street recreation hall is being utilized as a staging area for residents to gather, those who normally vote there instead will cast their ballots at the Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Company headquarters on Route 571.

To avoid any confusion, the vote will be held at the firehouse even if power is restored to the neighborhood. Bus service to the firehouse will be provided from the recreation hall every hour on the hour beginning at 7 a.m. The final pickup will be at 7 p.m., according to Skibo.

Besides the one relocation, other districts are ready and polling hours will remain the same.

"We're good to go," Skibo said.

In addition to casting their ballot for U.S. president and state representation, Manchester residents will choose from four candidates running for three Township Council seats. Two are running unopposed for school board seats.

All Ocean County registered voters can use the mail in ballot to vote and do not have to wait for Tuesday, Ocean County Clerk Scott M. Colabella said.

Vote by mail ballots can still be obtained from the Ocean County Clerk's Office on Saturday and Sunday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Applications must be submitted by 3 p.m. on Monday.

The county clerk is operation out of room 116 of the Ocean County Administration Building at 101 Hooper Ave., Toms River. The Southern Service Center, 179 South Main St., Stafford, also has ballot applications.
