Oceanaires Chorus Honored for 55 Years of Entertainment [VIDEO]

Barbershop chorus performed at last week's Township Council meeting

Members of the Oceanaires Chorus, Ocean County's only chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, were honored by Toms River as they celebrate 55 years of performing. 

A proclamation issued by the township declaring April 7 through 13 as Barbershop Harmony Week was presented to the members by Mayor Thomas Kelaher.

Ocean County's Barbershop Harmony Society was formed in 1957 and has held hundreds of performances, according to president Barry Burke.

Members include Al Kiley and Tony D’Elia, both of Lakewood, Rob Sorino of Jackson, and Rick Revello of Toms River. 

The Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders also honored the chorus last week.
