Respiratory Screenings to be Held at TR East Friday

Screenings will be free

Deborah Heart & Lung Center will hold respiratory screenings for local residents on Friday, following concerns that locals exposed to mold in the wake of Superstorm Sandy could be at risk.

Township officials told Patch that while past screenings by Deborah have yielded few referrals to physicians – and of those, few may have been linked to mold – it is still important for one's peace of mind.

The free screenings will be held this Friday, Aug. 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Toms River High School East, 1225 Raider Way.

The screenings include pulmonary function testing, pulse oximetry, blood pressure testing and testing for auscultation of the lungs.

The program program is being provided by a grant from the Robin Hood Foundation, officials said. It is available to men, women, and children over the age of 12.

Those interested in a screening can call 732-341-1000 ext. 8211 to schedule an appointment time. Walk-ins are also welcome.
