Sandy Grant Applications On Toms River Council's Agenda Tuesday

Ordinances, finances will also be discussed

The Toms River Council will vote on whether to apply for additional federal grants related to Superstorm Sandy recovery at its meeting Tuesday.

Officials have said that they would apply for $190,000 in additional federal funding, beyond the $15 million for which the township applied last month. The newest sources are funding are intended to go toward specific projects, several of which are targeted toward the township's barrier island sections.

According to an agenda, the council will also take up an ordinance dealing with the township's land use ordinance as it applies to yards and decks, extend snow plowing contracts from last winter and reveal the final numbers of the 2013 season's beach badge revenue.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the township municipal complex.
