Snooki & JWoww to Film In Toms River?

MTV's "Jersey Shore" spinoff told it can't film at residence

Snooki and JWoww won't be filmed hanging out at home -- at least not at the Toms River residence of one of the two women.

Township Administrator Paul Shives said the township received a request from 495 Productions, the company behind MTV's "Jersey Shore" and its spinoff, "Snooki & JWoww," seeking to film the new show at a residential location.

"The township has an ordinance that prohibits the filming of movies, television shows or commercials in residential areas," Shives said Thursday. "It's a zoning provision."

So the township advised 495 Productions that filming at the residential site -- the home of one of the two stars, Jennifer "JWoww" Farley and Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi -- was not permitted under ordinance. The site was not specified.

But, contrary to a report in the Star-Ledger of Newark, Shives said, the township did not ban the show from filming in Toms River. Officials in Point Pleasant Beach have turned down a request from the show to film scenes at businesses on the boardwalk there.

"If they want to film in a commercial area, there's nothing that would prohibit it," Shives said, adding that filming in a commercial area does not require a permit in Toms River. "It's already a permitted activity in a commercial zone."

In fact, "Jersey Shore" at commercial locations in town, including KS Fitness, where some of the cast worked out during the summer of 2010, during the filming of Season 3. Other commercial locations in Toms River that have hosted filming of the show are Rivoli's and Jagged Edge, and other MTV shows have filmed in Toms River schools and other businesses.

TR should accommodate them. They could be a good influence, the most obnoxious ones on the show are from here: Roger, the Tool with bad ink & jeans and the assorted locals that Ronnie had to beat-up

Let them film, who cares. What they do doesn't affect me, I couldn't care less about them. Even If they film next door to my house, I would not care. In fact, I'd go and get a picture with those two ugly broads and have it autographed. After all, they're still famous. LIghten up people.

Sure, bring more negative attention to Toms River; Ritacco and Inteso aren't enough?Perhaps Mr. Shives can get some pointers from SSH's township administrator Mr.Camera on how to improve TR's image.

I don't think Rittacos house is in Toms River.
ed crowley August 10, 2012 at 03:54 PM
You might disagree if there filming interfered with using your house,

jennyt August 10, 2012 at 04:44 PM
The real housewives of NJ show definitely filmed in toms river at their beach house....I know the house that they showed on that episode and its in tr.....I think they pulled up some random old ordinance because they specifically did not want this show to film there. Can't really blame them. Lol.

Let them film at tent city in Lakewood, or Beachwood.
jennyt August 10, 2012 at 08:05 PM
Why don't they film wherever these girls are actually from....neither of them is from here anyway.

Look, Stop living in your little fish bowl. The vast majority of the Jersey Shore, Jaywow and Snookie followers never ever heard of Ritacco and Inteso and could care less. You can take that to the bank. Jaywow Farley, meet her briefly outside of the normal scripted actor envioment. She is nothing like the character on the show that have her portray. Matter of fact they did not even want the audience to know she is Irish, go figure?

How's the view up there from your ivory tower, folks? What a great example you all set for the kids. A bunch of holier than thou hypocrites. Talk about setting an example for kids, most of you couldn't spell or properly punctuate a sentence if you had a gun to your head. It must be nice to look down your nose at people who are 10x more successful than you'll ever be. It takes a special kind of D-bag to judge people you've never met. What a pathetic display, and I don't mean from the kids on Jersey Shore. Go ask the businesses they frequent how terrible it is having those people around. I'm sure the huge influx of money is horrible. How dare those kids get in bar fights when local pineys start with them for no reason. Nobody was EVER arrested before Jersey Shore. Don't worry kids, you stick with what Mom and Brad taught you, and you'll be 30, reading and writing at a 3rd grade level in no time. Now pass me that can of PBR and a tin of Skoal and get out of my face.

Some things are more important than money.
blaze August 10, 2012 at 11:46 PM
@Anthony....the kids on that show may be newly rich, but I would hardly call them successful. Those are two very different words.
2much2say August 11, 2012 at 12:52 AM
Do you really think it's okay for kids to watch a bunch of drunk girls & boys with their private areas showing (well, being blurred)? Having sex w/random people? Do you really kids are watching this like we are saying omg, they did that?, they're watching this thinking this is all okay & it's not. I'll be the first to admit I love reality tv! I enjoy it and I must say if these shows happened to be around when I was younger I would be first in line. I would be collecting. LoL
Typical Obama Voter August 11, 2012 at 02:54 AM
Even a Wookie wouldn't sleep with Snookie. Take a good look at JWoww's face. Take a real good close look. There's not enough jack daniels in Tennessee to make her seem attractive. Big fake boobs and all.
Anthony August 11, 2012 at 08:04 AM
No, I dont think its ok for kids to watch it, and neither does MTV. It's not up to MTV and the rest of society to be role models and parents to YOUR children. If they don't know that having random sex partners all the time is wrong, that's YOUR fault. The show comes with a rating clearly explaining that it's for mature audiences, if your kids are watching it and you don't think they should be, then YOU should do something about it. The show is very obviously aimed at the 18-30 crowd. And if you've ever been to Jenks or Bamboo in the summer, youd know the ONLY difference between them and local kids is the camera following them.
2much2say August 11, 2012 at 01:11 PM
You're right. But even 18-30 still shows some nasty stuff for kids, well young adults. Hey, I remember going to these places and yes you are right but in my day there was no "jersey turnpike" hahaha

Commercial filming involves a lot more neighborhood upheaval than privately using a camcoder in your home. There can be a hundred production company employees on site or more. Problems include noise, lights, parking, extra "rest-room" facilities, and often closing off the road. Neighbors are expected to not interfere with filming by doing such things as making noise (like playing in the yard, going in your pool, your dog barking, running the lawn mower), walking around, etc. Then there is making sure that any costs to the municipality are covered by the production company - like security, road closings, etc. And none of this includes any problems caused by the cast members...
