State Legislature Plans Sandy Meeting in Toms River

Two committees will discuss a host of issues

Members of two New Jersey state legislative committees will meet in Toms River next week to discuss ongoing issues related to Superstorm Sandy.

The Assembly Environment and Solid Waste committee and the Senate Environment and Energy committee will hold a joint meeting Oct. 21 at the Toms River municipal complex.

The meeting is set to begin at 4 p.m.

Several local grassroots groups, including Stop FEMA Now, are planning to attend. The Stop FEMA Now organization said this week that the meeting will be open to a host of issues related to the storm, including insurance payout issues, second homeowners concerns, flood insurance premiums and rebuilding.

The meeting will be held at 33 Washington Street, Toms River, at 4 p.m. Oct. 21.
