Power Failure Don'ts

What not to do in a Power Failure

on July 7 we had a terrible storm and when the lights went out I did what most people do,see if the neighbors had power. Everyone lost it so the next thing I did was survey my damage. I was lucky just a overturned table and some branches.

(1)Now I wanted some info,so I got my old portable radio out and put on wobm since it's local I thought they would have some info. After listening to several songs on the fm dial I turned to the am part but a ballgame was being broadcast, and I guess there was no storm there. So my Advice to you is don't try to get info from wobm, unless you just feel like dancing to requested songs.

(2) I next called jersey central. After numerous robot instructions I finally got a live person in about 20 minutes ,she was courtesy enough and asked my name my account number, my address and my phone number (wow, I'm really getting somewhere now). What seems to be the problem? she asked. I explained to her no power. She replied,  "well we don't know what the problem is but if you would like for us to call when power is restored we can."

(3) I don't know but am I such an Idiot that I would have to be called that I have power if indeed I have power if  the phone rings.

(4) To WOBM - sometime give out local Information on a Weekend. To JCPL -  don't treat us like morons
