Attorney Appointment Expected at Special Tuesday BOE Meeting

Board did not appoint attorney at Jan. 3 reorganization meeting

The Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Tuesday so members can interview prospective candidates for attorney positions.

After some controversy, members did not appoint a board attorney or labor attorney at their Jan. 3 reorganization meeting. Members agreed to hold interviews with those in consideration for the positions.

As such, the special meeting to be held at Toms River High School North will begin with an executive session beginning at 5:30 p.m. That session is expected to continue until about 8 p.m. as the board conducts "interviews and deliberations regarding professional contracts and other business," the meeting announcement states.

Formal action, including the appointments, would take place after the executive session has concluded.

Members are also expected to discuss whether the district should use a pool of engineers or one firm exclusively.

It originally appeared that board members would meet at school district offices on Hooper Avenue, but the venue was changed to High School North to provide more space for an audience.

I find it interesting how 1 person is having a conversation with themself on this article.... 6 screenames from 1 IP address.

Were you bullied as a child?
Buffoon wrangler January 08, 2013 at 01:45 PM
JD I on the other hand find your need to deflect attention from questions asked in regard to the actions and intentions of the new BOE members interesting, if not obsessive. Let them speak for themselves. You wanted transparency, so get on the bandwagon.
JD January 08, 2013 at 02:26 PM
Exit 82... She is the bully... Teachers Union president that backed the incumbants and lost. She wants Gilmore firm as attorney... Teachers Union contract expires 6/2013 so they have an interest as to who is negotiating... the attorney as well as the board members.
Stan January 08, 2013 at 02:57 PM
Does anyone know what other districts Leone worked for prior this? I heard Brielle with Joe Torrone- aka "former superintendent" Is that true ?
JD January 08, 2013 at 03:59 PM
I heard Gearity and Baxter cannot participate in interviews nor can vote on Board or Labor Attorney due to Conflict. Is that true?
Stan January 08, 2013 at 04:16 PM
JD you said yourself that there doesn't need to be a vote on the attorney because they already decided who it will be and the new members have the majority, so it real doesn't matter if there is conflict or not does it?
Buffoon wrangler January 08, 2013 at 04:43 PM
Does anyone know how Loreen intends to run a personnel committee? I hear that she d oesnt want any members since she was already told by Joe who to hire. Anyone know if that's true?
JD January 08, 2013 at 05:21 PM
At least they will get the resumes and transcripts... that will eliminate about 1/3 of the candidates Roselli proposes. I hope they set some minimum standards... such as minimum 3.0 GPA, CEAS (Certified with Advanced Standing), etc. The old Ritacco board never got resumes or transcripts... and rubber stamped the hirings... that is what caused ranking to decline, test scores to decline, etc.. When they hire the TGIF waitress as a teacher (because Gearity recommended)... the Theater Arts major as a middle school math teacher (because mommy and daddy are teachers)... the jock that can't "CAT" even if you spot him the A and the T (because daddy is a teacher and coach)... it just can't get any worse than that... now can it.
Chasing your tail January 08, 2013 at 05:23 PM
Loreen may know upper level math but beyond that, from what I hear, she is lost. Perhaps Ginny could serve as co chair? Wasn't she a teacher in the district?
J.D.J.R. January 08, 2013 at 05:42 PM
I heard the Brielle schools personnel department set up a direct link so TRRS can have immediate access to that information. Did anyone else hear that too? Sure would streamline the process for Loreen.
JD January 08, 2013 at 05:49 PM
That would be a good thing... as Brielle is ranked #93 out of 1254 Elementary schools in NJ!!! Source... schooldigger.com
Chasing your tail January 08, 2013 at 05:53 PM
OH..school digger.com gave us the recommendations?! I feel much better now, I thought we were basing them on information from Wikapedia.
J.D.J.R. January 08, 2013 at 06:18 PM
Probably not such a good idea there chasing. Rhine was rated very poorly on ratemy teacher.com. http://www.ratemyteachers.com/ginny-rhine/291441-t
JD January 08, 2013 at 07:30 PM
J.R. Did you read the comments?? Actually she has a good review. I like the comments. Someone complaining about pink slips or hard... that is a good thing. Joe Torrone got a good review at Brielle... are you going to provide that link? Someone wrote... he is the "man".. 5stars. Thanks for the link.. it was helpful.
J.D.J.R. January 08, 2013 at 08:09 PM
Comments on Rhine included "confusing" "......stupid" "maybe she ll get better when she learns something". Do we have Ginny's resume or transcript? Oh wait...prob not since she taught here. Who did she know again JD? Did all 93 students in the K-8 district of Brielle rate Torrone? By the way, Joes claim to fame is " former superintendent " he neglects to say of a small K-8 district.
grace January 08, 2013 at 08:10 PM
there must be a ritacco family member who is a lawyer
JD January 08, 2013 at 08:18 PM
JR.. you really can't read.... you must be a TRRS teacher. It was a student calling his/her classmates stupid... not Ginny. Here is what I read. "great teacher" "she moves too fast for me" (Ginny taught AP and honors classes) "nice teacher" btw... why would TRRS take a teacher right out of college to teach AP or Honors courses instead of the more experience, tenure teacher..
grace January 08, 2013 at 08:21 PM
baxter = ritacco
grace January 08, 2013 at 08:27 PM
jd you cant make this stuff up..how about the hire for teacher because your hubby exercised with ritacco mistress without certificate..list goes on..marry someone and sis gets a job bff gets a job brother gets job even tho went to school to be a weatherman..hey no certificate no problem come on down to ritacco town
Buffoon wrangler January 08, 2013 at 11:13 PM
JD I lost count how many times you've told us that TRRS hires subpar teachers, 3.0 gpa, without a resume, & ALWAYS connected to someone who know Ritacco ( refer to your comment on this article at 12:21 TODAY). So, I ask you again how did Ginny Rhine get hired? Are you telling me that she was the lone exception?
Chasing your tail January 08, 2013 at 11:41 PM
Rhine taught AP for a very short time and According to YOUR THEORY JD, Ritacco and his BOE WOULD place an inexperienced teacher in an AP class over a tenured teacher! So are you telling us that Ginny Rhine was hired and placed in an AP class over a tenured teacher because The RHINE FAMILY WAS CONNECTED TO Ritacco?
J.D.J.R. January 09, 2013 at 12:54 AM
JD I especially liked the 2nd comment that says "mr Torrone does absolutely nothing..and gets paid massive amounts"! Thanks for suggesting I post the link. http://www.ratemyteachers.com/joe-torrone/621920-t.
JD January 09, 2013 at 01:07 AM
But he didn't get as much as your buddy Ritacco... not including the $10million.. the judge said himself to Ritacco... how did he run a construction biz, super of TR, etc. btw... Don't they say that about all administrators and teachers... being overpaid. Are some/many administrators overpaid... yes.... are some teachers overpaid (yes)... but many teachers are underpaid.. yes. But he if free to the BOE... and he is the "MAN"...
J.D.J.R. January 09, 2013 at 01:12 AM
JD you left out the part about Ginny Rhine being a "Former Teacher of AP Computer Science at Toms River High School North (2002-2005) ". Got that from the clean slate team web page.http://cleanslateteam.com/. AP COMPUTER SCIENCE?? JD your twisting things again! Shame on you! So I'm guessing that 12 years ago, a then 21year old right out of college would without a doubt know much more about computers than a 20 year or more tenured teacher! That, Plus the Ritacco connection theory that you have, ties it all together!
Chasing your tail January 09, 2013 at 01:19 AM
Sorry JD but Joe Torrone being rated "the man" by an elementary school kid hardly qualifies as BOE resume material.
JD January 09, 2013 at 01:37 AM
I think those are parents commenting!! K-8... so I guess the Ratemyteachers website is really not a good source... but you brought it up.
Chasing your tail January 09, 2013 at 01:43 AM
Just as reliable as schooldigger.com I gues! Who taught you about that site..your high schoolAP computer science teacher?
JD January 09, 2013 at 02:01 AM
You must be a TRRS teacher. Schooldigger takes the NJ DOE NJASK results from the report cards and compiles rankings simply by adding up total % passing the NJASK. Yep... that is very reliable and they put it in order... high to low... The Elementary schools are trending down the last 3 years... and that is easy to understand why.. The Intermediates are trending down... but are 10percentile lower than Elementary... and that is easy to understand why. The High schools seem to have hit rock bottom last year and have started to trend up.

Wikapedia rates authorities on everything...in TR bloggers with only a GED, who are unemployed are on the way down in relation to their responses to factual information. :)
