Financial Aid Workshops at OCC

Looking to attend college but you don’t know how to pay for tuition?  Ocean County College is offering O.P.E.N. (Opening Pathways to Education Now) Workshops during the months of February, March, and April.  The O.P.E.N. program is an initiative that seeks to increase awareness of the affordability of obtaining a post-secondary education.  All workshops are held on the OCC Main Campus, College Drive, Toms River, NJ.  Free and open to the public.

While geared toward high school sophomore and junior students and their families, these special financial aid workshops are open to anyone seeking assistance in applying for Federal and New Jersey State student financial aid.  The workshops will enable attendees to gain awareness of financial aid programs.  It will also give students and their families a projected indication of the aid that the student might be eligible for upon completion of high school.

“Opening Pathways to Education Now” Workshops will be held in the Technology Building (Bldg #13) on the following dates:

College Goal Sunday, February 26 (Snow Date: March 4), 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Atrium

Saturday, March 17 or March 31, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Room 205

Students and parents (if the student is unmarried and under 24 years of age) must bring complete copies of their 2011 Federal Tax Returns (including schedules) and W-2s.  If this information is not available by the date of your workshop, contact the Ocean County College Financial Aid Office to receive guidance on alternative documentation that can be used to estimate information.
