Free breakfast at OCC, learn about benefits of a Diverse Workforce

TOMS RIVER –   The Ocean County Human Relations Commission, in conjunction with the Jersey Shore Chapter of the American Conference on Diversity  and several other groups, will present a free business person’s breakfast Wednesday May 2 from 8 until 10 a.m. “Welcoming the Business Community: Diversity in the Workplace” speakers include Francis A. Polito, Chief Administrative Judge of the Philadelphia District Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and Linda Tondow, Vice President and Associate Executive Director of the American Conference on Diversity.  Polito will discuss why dealing with discrimination issues in the workplace quickly is so important and how poor communication in a diverse workplace can sometimes lead to discrimination complaints. He will also discuss how good conversations about cultural differences often lead to a happier, better and more informed workplace.

The seminar and breakfast will be held in the Technology Building Auditorium (Tech #13), Room 115 on Ocean County College’s campus, Toms River.  The college can be accessed from either Hooper Avenue or Church RoadThe seminar and continental breakfast are presented to the business community free of charge, but registration is requested.  Telephone (732) 255-0400, Ext. 2026 to register.The program is cosponsored by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the Ocean County College Office of Multicultural Services, the Ocean County Library, Jersey Shore PFLAG, and the Kiwanis Club of Jackson.
