OCC Accepting Athletic Hall of Fame Nominations

Induction ceremony and dinner will be held in November

Nominations are being accepted for athletes worthy of induction to Ocean County College's Athletic Hall of Fame, the college recently announced. 

"The Athletic Hall of Fame honors distinguished OCC alumni-athletes, former coaches, and others whose achievements have had a significant impact on Ocean County College’s athletic program," the college said in a statement. 

Nominations will be accepted through June 14 and an induction ceremony is slated for November, according to the college.

To be considered, nominees must have been two-year athletic participants — eligibility begins the seventh year after departure — and made a significant impact in the sport, which is defined as an All-Conference performer or equivalent. A nominee must have maintained a 2.0 or higher grade point average, according to the college.  

For coaches, a nominees must have been an outstanding coach for three or more years and be retired as a coach for at least one year. Coaches should also hold state, regional, or national achievements and have been an OCC employee in good standing.

"Individuals who do not qualify under the above criteria due to extenuating or extraordinary conditions may still be eligible upon the consideration of the OCC Athletic Hall of Fame Committee," the college said.
