School Board Meets Tonight

Violence report, Hauenstein contract and more on agenda for High School North

Tonight’s Toms River Regional Board of Education meeting is at Toms River High School North. The board convenes for executive session at 6:15 p.m. and opens for public session at 7:30 p.m.

On tonight’s agenda: The , a state-required tabulation of all reported incidents of violence, vandalism and substance abuse.

The board will also discuss the contract of , who replaced William Cardone this summer in overseeing elementary schools. Parts of the compensation package for Hauenstein remain undecided from previous board meetings.

The agenda also includes approvals of a series of contracts and lease agreements, as well as a student award presentation and reports from the board subcommittees and from the student representatives on the school board.

Tonight’s meeting also has the distinction of from former Superintendent Michael J. Ritacco’s last board of education meeting as superintendent, which was Oct. 12, 2010. He resigned Oct. 21, 2010, the same day he was charged in a federal indictment for bribery.
