Sr. Citizen Art Exhibit Coming to OCC

Exhibit begins later this month, college officials say

View artwork created by talented Ocean County artists age 60 and older at the 38th Annual Ocean County Senior Citizens Art Exhibit from May 31 to June 25 at the Ocean County College Arts & Community Center Gallery (Building #18), OCC Main Campus, College Drive, Toms River, NJ.  Gallery hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  (Note: Closed on Sundays.)  Admission is FREE and open to the public.

In addition, professional and nonprofessional artists, 60 years of age or older, who are residents of Ocean County are eligible to submit artwork in one of 11 categories including acrylic, craft, digital, drawing, mixed media & collage, oil, pastel, photography, print, sculpture, and watercolor.  Artwork will be received only on Thurs, May 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the Lobby, Door #1, of the Arts & Community Center.  Each artist may only submit one entry.  Artwork must be original, executed by the submitting artist within the past three years, and not previously entered in the New Jersey Senior Citizens Art Show.  NOTE: No giclée prints (or other similar reproductions of original artwork), kits, molds, or copies of other artists’ artwork will be accepted.  For complete eligibility requirements, artwork display rules, entry fee, and an entry form, call Joanne Padrone at 732-255-0400, ext. 2065, or visit our website at www.ocean.edu (click on “Seniors” and then “Senior Art Exhibit”).

Sponsors of the 38th Annual Ocean County Senior Citizens Art Exhibit include Ocean County College (Resource Development, College Relations, and the Arts & Community Center), along with the Senior Art Advisory Committee, Ocean County Office of Senior Services, Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders, and the Ocean County Cultural & Heritage Commission.
