2011 Tax Rate Breakdown for Toms River Regional Schools

Each of the towns that make up the Toms River Regional School District has an anticipated tax increase, according to district documents.

The school budget will be outlined in a budget presentation at 7:30 p.m. tonight in Intermediate North. A “user-friendly budget” is posted online for review, as voters weigh in before the April 27 school board election.

For Toms River residents, the tax rate could grow to $0.7389 per $100 for Toms River, up from $0.706 per $100.

In Toms River, where an average home is assessed at $376,778, the school tax amounts to a $2,784 annual tax payment proposed.

This means an increase of 3.3 cents per $100 over 2010-2011, adding $124 more in taxes levied for the average assessed home in Toms River.

Beachwood residents would be assessed a tax rate of $0.7313 per $100, up from $0.716.In Beachwood, where the average home is valued at $260,388, the school tax amounts to a $1,904 annual tax payment proposed.

This means an increase of 1.5 cents per $100 over 2010-2011, amounting to $39 more in taxes levied for the average assessed home in Beachwood.

Pine Beach residents would be assessed a tax rate of  $0.7849 per $100, up from $0.738.

In Pine Beach, where an average home is assessed at $326,621, the school tax amounts to a $2,563 annual tax payment proposed.

This means an increase of 4.69 cents per $100 over 2010-2011, adding $152 more in taxes levied for the average assessed home in Pine Beach.

 South Toms River residents would be assessed a tax rate of $0.7317 per $100, up from $0.696.In South Toms River, where an average home is assessed at $215,502, the school tax amounts to a $1,576 annual tax payment proposed.

This means an increase of 3.57 cents per $100 over 2010-2011, adding $76 more in taxes levied for the average assessed home in South Toms River.

The total anticipated tax levy revenue for Toms River Regional Schools would be $131.104 million, up from $126.21 million last year.

The tax levy Toms River shoulders out of the total school budget tax levy is $125.508 million. The remainder of the tax levy is assessed to the three other towns that make up the regional school district. Beachwood’s tax levy would be $7.459 million. Pine Beach’s tax levy would be $2.36 million. South Toms River’s tax levy would be $2.066 million
