The Toms River Regional Board of Education is set to vote on the introduction of numerous board policies at its meeting Tuesday night.

The policies cover areas including attendance, tenure charges against staff, evaluation procedures and acceptable use of the school's computer network by teaching staff, among others.

In a closed session meeting before the public portion begins, the board will discuss litigation related to the case of former superintendent Michael J. Ritacco and the contract of incoming superintendent David M. Healy.

The public portion of the meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m.

That 'Closed Door Session' to discuss the litigation related to the former superintendent Michael Ritacco - and the contract of incoming superintendent Healy. We are aware that Ritacco has requested his pension money. I can only hope that this board will vote a unified 'NO.' As to Mr. Healy's contract - why is the discussion being held behind closed doors? Since we are footing the bill, it's only fitting that we open that door and allow a little sunshine. It's a great disinfectant.

Ritacco is looking to get his 155K annual pension re-instated. If I recall, when he was stripped of his pension, he received a 185K reimbursement of his actual contribution to the system over his career. Not bad. Put in 185 and take out 155 for the rest of your life. Don't you sheep at the bottom of the pyramid know a Ponzi scheme when you see one? Maybe he'll drop dead in prison and it won't be an issue.

Ritacco's register number at the Lewisburg, PA federal prison is: 62760-050. I'm sure he'd like to receive some cards and letters from the folks here in Toms River.. :-)

@bayway mike, I'm assuming that Mikey is in the Satellite Camp which has a different PO Box at Lewisburg then than the "main" prison. Do you know if that's correct? I could use a good pen pal.

This new board is destroying the district. We've gone from bad to worse. There are so many things I hear from educators about the problems with the buildings, such as falling debris and mold - yes, mold! Your children are learning in a MOLD filled environment. However, rather than fix the problem, they bring in Gaffney to spend 3 years worth of budget for failing curriculum programs in less than a year's time. Way to go, TRBOE! Please, people, vote them out.
