Scorecard for Toms River East v. Absegami, Sectional Semifinals

Toms River East's Armando Leonor battled John Carr of Absegami for three periods and came away with a decision that pushed the Raiders to a 30-27 victory in the NJSIAA South Jersey Group IV team wrestling tournament on Monday night in Toms River.

advances to a semifinal meeting with Southern Regional, the top seed, on Wednesday night. Southern defeated East 56-9 in a regular season matchup on Jan. 4.

The Raiders won the first four bouts, but Absegami responded with four straight wins to tie the match at 15-15. The teams dueled, with Rich Lewis recording a pin at 145 and Absegami responding with a pin.

With Absegami leading 27-24 after a pin at 170, senior Donald Jacob earned a 9-2 decision at 182, setting the stage for Leonor.
