VIDEO: Family Offered Well-Wishes as Son Heads to Afghanistan

Eric Trust, a 2006 High School South graduate, is heading to Afghanistan this week

The family of Eric Trust, a 2006 High School South graduation who is enlisted in the U.S. Army, was offered well-wishes as their son headed to serve in Afghanistan.

"The board just felt it would be special for us to pay our most sincere gratitude," said Toms River Superintendent of Schools Frank Roselli.

A standing ovation was given to Trust's parents by those in the audience at the board's meeting this Tuesday.

"I know they're proud of their son, as are we. I know they're anxious for his return, as are we," Roselli said. "We wish him all the very best and we hope that he will return soon in good health."

Trust, a Bayville resident, was most recently stationed in Fort Hood, Texas, before leaving for Afghanistan this week.
