7 Home Runs Power Toms River American Little Leaguers Past Jackson
The 12-year-old all-stars advance to a winners bracket game against Brick on Tuesday.
Toms River American’s Little League all-stars have long believed in their ability to hit.
On Sunday, they put that ability fully on display, hitting seven home runs to defeat Jackson’s 12-year-old all-stars 10-3 in the District 18 tournament, playing at the Holbrook Little League complex in Jackson.

Toms River’s Nick Tedeschi and Amanda Joyce each homered twice, and Cameron Dineen and Tommy Campo had homers.
Dylan Danielson, who pitched 4 2/3 innings, helped his own cause with one of two home runs in the second inning (Tedeschi had the other one) as Toms River started hitting Jackson hard early and didn’t let up, according to manager Sean Bayha.

On the mound, “He (Danielson) kept them off-balance,” Bayha said. The confidence gained from holding off Manchester on Saturday clearly helped, as Danielson allowed only three hits before Tommy Campo came in to record the last four outs.
“We played the best we have all season,” Bayha said. And he hopes it will continue when Toms River faces Brick’s all-stars on Tuesday at Leiter Field in Berkeley.
