Frazier Goes Deep in Chicago, Reds Roll

Former Toms River South Indian notches third home run of major league career.

The more he plays, the more Toms River native Todd Frazier continues to impress, for the Cincinnati Reds.

Starting at third base for the third time in four games -- and batting the highest in the order in his career, in the five slot -- Frazier blasted a two-run home run in the top of the fourth inning, driving home Jay Bruce, who singled in front of him.

The Reds topped the Cubs, 8-7, at Wrigley Field.

The two-run blast, combined with a double down the left field line in the top of the eighth inning to score Joey Votto, accounted for arguably Frazier's most productive day in the big leagues, with three RBI.

In his first at-bat, Frazier flew out to right field on the fourth pitch that he saw, for the second out in the top of the second inning.

He also grounded into a double play to end the top of the fifith inning.

Frazier's home run came on the first pitch he saw in the at-bat -- an 87 M.P.H sinker that he lifted into the left row in left field at Wrigley Field.

Drew Stubbs opened the scoring for the Reds, giving them the early 1-0 lead with a second inning home run.

Stubbs also scored on a wild pitch following Frazier's fourth inning home run.

Edgar Renteria also hit a two run home-run -- his coming in the top of the fifth inning, to aid Cincinnati to the victory.

Frazier is now hitting .265 on the season, and has four runs batted in over the current road trip for the Reds.

He has seen significant time at third base after Scott Rolen hit the disabled list.
