Toms River Winter Sports Recap

Mixed results for area high school teams in winter athletics

The three Toms River high schools plus Monsignor Donovan recently completed their winter sports schedule, and saw some significant athletic accomplishments, along with some teams showing some growing pains.

The success stories begin with Monsignor Donovan's Anthony D'Anton, who became the school's first district and regional champion since 1993, Toms River North saw their winter boys' track team claim the A-South championship, and the Mariners' girls swimming team posted an undefeated regular season.

Many of the following records have been provided by the individual school's athletic director, or the individual team's coach.  In the case of teams that did not return calls or e-mails, records were obtained through highschoolsports.nj.com.  These records are denoted with an asterisk.
