Toms River's Todd Frazier, Derek Jeter Reunited at All-Star Game

Frazier got on base, but couldn't score in MLB All Star Game

The 2014 Major League Baseball All Star Game was all about Derek Jeter. But the living Yankees legend's last All Star Game in the majors – at least as a player – came with the opportunity for a reunification with Todd Frazier, who first met Jeter after the Toms River East Little League clinched its own World Series title in 1998.

Back then, Frazier appeared at Yankee Stadium alongside Jeter, a young star who would go on to lead his team to a slew of World Series victories in the big leagues. Now, Frazier is the young star in the Major League, with Jeter once again wishing him well.

"It means I've been doing it for a long time – a very long time," Jeter told MLB.com in an interview this week. "It's great to see guys that you run into when they're young. There's been plenty of players I've played against that have said I had an opportunity to met them earlier in my career. I enjoy those stories."

Frazier said Jeter hasn't changed much since 1998 – he was a "happy-go-lucky" guy back then, and still is, he told MLB.com. Interacting with Jeter again made him feel like a kid in a candy store, he said.

Frazier drew a walk in the eighth inning of Tuesday's Midsummer Classic after placing second in the annual Home Run Derby the day before. He didn't get the chance to come home and score in the National League's 5-3 defeat to the American League.
