VIDEO: ESPN Profile Highlights Todd Frazier's Commitment to Sandy Recovery in Toms River

Toms River native tours damaged Jersey Shore areas and lends a hand in video profile

Toms River native Todd Frazier was profiled in a recent ESPN video highlighting the Major League Baseball star's efforts to help his hometown recover from Hurricane Sandy.

The Cincinnati Reds third baseman tours devastated areas around Toms River and Seaside Heights and aids in the recovery effort by collecting goods in the "Todd Frazier: Jersey Strong" video.

"When push comes to shove, we're there. We've got each other's backs," he says in the video.

Frazier, who in 1998 helped Toms River's Little League team win the World Championship, still has a home in town, according to the video. 

An emotional Toms River Chief of Police Michael Mastronardy appears in the video and praises the baseball player's efforts.

"It's more about what's in your heart than what you do on the field," the chief says.
