Storm Continues Past Midnight; Flooding Reported

Storm rolls in around 7:30 p.m. and wave after 11 p.m. creates flooding

A lightning storm continued to drop rain on Toms River past midnight, creating reported flood conditions along Route 37 near Clifton Avenue.

Utility company JCP&L was showing no reported outages in Toms River, though nearby Lakewood had a 2,900 customers without power at 12:40 a.m.

Overnight - Rain likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 4 a.m., then a slight chance of rain and thunderstorms after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. West wind 8 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday - A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 94. West wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
