Winter action in the garden

GCTR - snow will insulate & protect some plants. Nice to see half inch of Daffodil [Genus Narcissus, family Liliaceae (or Amaryllidaceae): several species, in particular the common N. pseudonarcissus and its varieties. See also narcissus] sticking out of the ground last week. Heather [Calluna vulgaris, family Ericaceae. This family includes the rhododendrons and azaleas as well as the blueberries and many other berry-bearing dwarf shrubs.]  Witch Hazel [Genus Hamamelis, family Hamamelidaceae: several species, esp. H. virginiana, which is the source of the lotion] blooming. Snow drops [Galanthus nivalis, family Liliaceae (or Amaryllidaceae).] soon. American Robins feeding in large groups. Hang in there! Spring on the way.
