PHOTOS: 14th Annual Jingle Bells 5k Run Results

Local Rotary Club presents race to benefit local students.

It was a cool sunny day in Historic , as walkers and runners could be seen warming up for their course. Participants gathered in front of the on Washington Street to await the start.

First up was the Fun Run, which aims to be just that. Runners as young as 3-year-old Ryan Caruso and mother Amy could be seen taking part in this one mile course.

Following the Fun Run was the main event - the Jingle Bells 5k Run. At the pistol's report, hundreds of runners left their marks. This event, presented by the Rotary Club of Toms River aims to benefit local high school students through the club's scholarship programs. A Special Law Enforcement Scholarship is also awarded in memory of Det. Mark Catalano of the .

Race Director Jim Everett, and Assistant Directors Larry Perlberg and Joe Michelini presented the runners with awards following the race.
