Beach Cleanups Held Throughout County Waterfront April 30

Volunteers will man Clean Ocean Action's beach sweeps in Ortley, Seaside and elsewhere

Clean Ocean Action volunteers will take to area beaches on Saturday, April 30, for a widespread cleanup of the waterfront.

With the spring cleanups held throughout the state, there’s also no shortage of locations in Ocean County hosting Clean Ocean Action beach sweeps tomorrow.

The initiative is an annual event for Clean Ocean Action, whose the number of cigarette butts, soda cans and other refuse found sitting along New Jersey’s coastlines.

Many of the sites are cleanups of the oceanfront, but there are also events on the Toms River, Barnegat Bay and area lakes.

  • Barnegat - Municipal dock at end of East Bay Avenue
  • Bay Head - Central Market at Route 35 & Mount Street
  • Beachwood - Public beach, Compass Avenue
  • Brick - Brick Beach III on Route 35 North, next to Ocean Club and across from Bayside Park
  • Lakewood - Lake Carasaljo, meet across from St. Mary's Church on Route 9
  • Lavallette - Philadelphia Avenue beach
  • Mantoloking - Lyman Avenue Beach
  • Normandy Beach - Meet at Labrador Lounge at Peterson Street & Route 35 North
  • Ocean Gate - Wildwood Avenue pier
  • Ortley Beach - Third Avenue beach
  • Point Pleasant - Maxson Avenue beach and River Avenue beaches
  • Point Pleasant Beach - Jenkinson's Aquarium on the boardwalk as well as Maryland Avenue.
  • Seaside Heights - Grant Avenue on the boardwalk; Bayside boat launch along Route 35 South
  • Seaside Park - Stockton Avenue on the boardwalk;  Second Avenue; Midway Beach at 6th Lane; Island Beach State Park - Bathing Pavilion #1
