Charity Bike Ride to Oregon in Support of Toms River Foundation

Former NJ State Police Officer will bike 4,500 miles to raise funds for cancer organization

After fourteen years, former NJ State Police Officer Craig Potter will get back on his bicycle for a repeat charity ride for "Ocean of Love," an organization that helps children with cancer, and their families, by providing financial and emotional support. His cross-country trip to Seaside, Oregon will begin on Wednesday, May 23. The ride will take approximately three months, covering 4,500 miles. He will return around September 1 in Ship Bottom, New Jersey.

In 1998 Potter biked from Manahawkin to Florida with his wife Donna and their children Jon, Marc and Kate following behind him in a van as a support team. They were able to raise almost $20,000. Tragically, Donna passed away in 2009 with an eight year battle with cancer, but in keeping his promise to Donna and his family, Craig is gearing up for another trip in hopes to raise $25,000 for the organization.

Donations can be sent to Ocean of Love-Charity Bike Ride, 1709 Route 37 East, Toms River, NJ 08753 or you can donate online at www.ocean-of-love.org. You can also follow Craig on Facebook.
